Office of Technology and Innovation — MyCity.nyc.gov

We were hired by the NYC Mayor’s Office of Technology and Innovation to write website copy for the full MyCity.nyc.gov platform. The goal was to make the site clear, accessible, and easy for all New Yorkers to use, regardless of language, digital experience, or familiarity with City services.

Our work included writing plain-language website copy, account prompts, application language, and user guidance throughout the platform. We also worked with a translation company to ensure the copy could be clearly translated and adapted for multilingual audiences.

In addition to writing content, we supported the user experience by helping shape how residents moved through the site. We reviewed navigation flows, refined instructional language, and developed copy that made each step easier to understand and complete.

To further support users, we also produced how-to videos explaining how to navigate the site, apply for services, and create an online account. The result was a more accessible, user-friendly digital platform designed to help New Yorkers find information and complete important actions online with greater confidence.
